“It was a gift sent to me.”

Paul doesn’t have much strength to go home and cook after his four-hour dialysis treatments. So when he decided to come into Thelma’s Kitchen after dialysis one day, he knew he had done the right thing. He could eat good, healthy food and sit and relax for a while.

We see Paul nearly every day now in Thelma’s. He is a quiet man … the kind that you need to sit with and get to know. If you ask him, he will tell you that miraculous things have happened since he started coming in to our building at 31st and Troost. Watch his video above and hear how simple things like good food, a hospitable space, and a little time offered by a case manager changed things for him in a big way!
